Privacy notice
GUARDIAN collects only what is needed to protect a child and route a case to the responsible agency. You can report completely anonymously — in that case there is no link back to you beyond the reference code you are given.
Sensitive details (the description, any child’s name, and a reporter phone number) are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM. Reporter phone numbers are never shown to field officers; only national CHRAJ-level administrators can access them, and only when contact is strictly necessary for follow-up. Every access to a sensitive field is recorded in an audit log.
This platform is designed to align with Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) and the Cybersecurity Act, 2020 (Act 1038). Data is processed for the lawful purpose of child protection and shared only with mandated child-protection agencies.
This is a pilot built for the UNICEF Startup Lab Challenge 2026. Production deployment will add append-only audit storage, formal data retention schedules, and a Data Protection Commission registration.
